Organizational studies is "the examination of how individuals construct organizational structures, processes, and practices and how these, in turn, shape social relations and create institutions that ultimately influence people",[1] organizational studies comprise different areas that deal with the different aspects of the organizations.
Subfields:
Organizational behavior (OB)
Organizational behavior (OB) or organisational behaviour is "the study of human behavior in organizational settings, the interface between human behavior and the organization, and the organization itself."
OB can be divided into three levels. The study of:
1) individuals in organizations (micro-level),
2) work groups (meso-level),
3) how organizations behave (macro-level).
Organizational theory (OT)
“Study of organizational designs and organizational structures, relationship of organizations with their external environment, and the behavior of managers and technocrats within organizations. It suggests ways in which an organization can cope with rapid change”. [2]
